Tin Nguyen#13 10/22/09 Paragraph of the Week How would you feel if you could see your everyday life activities from a scarecrow’s eyes? It began one day at a farm in Midwest region. The farmer rode his new lawn mower in the field and continuously bumps into me then damaging my fragile haystack body. He should at least pay attention to where I stood as the blades practically ripped my body into to pieces! Before this incident happened, I was able to scare away all kinds of birds that targeted the crops for over five years. Now, the birds began to show up and enjoyed a plentiful buffet of corn, wheat, and soybean in the field. Standing in the field all day is so boring but it is much easier if you are taking a few naps here and there while on duty. This job is horrible and abusive but it is hard to walk away from it because I have been doing it for many years. This job seems easy but it is so hard but every day it feels rewarding and it makes up for the terrible day. Today was a very abnormal day for me; it was very weird and hard to work with all the distractions. It was an awkward moment when the crows showed up with a treaty of peace, surrendered to me and moved on to terrorize many surrounding neighborhoods. The farmer made me a female scarecrow and she was beautiful, that really came out of nowhere but I am not complaining I guess the farmer finally appreciates my job. It turns out that today was the best awkward and abnormal day ever; I loved it more than my birthday. If this day was super and terrific, I just cannot wait until tomorrow. It turns out that it was all a dream and none of it happened, I guess I will have to look forward to nothing. Today I had the guts to walk up to the farmer and complain about all my problems and I had a few disputes with him. At first, he was really surprised and fainted for three hours then woke up and saw me. I explained that I could talk and that what just happened was not dream he stood up and told me he was sorry. He asked me to become his best friend and I said yes, we did everything together and were tighter than brothers were. It was amazing I never knew we had so much in common, I cannot help it but to still resent him a little bit for never appreciating my duty towards the farm. I told him I had to leave and go back to the farm but he said that he wanted me to stay. I was fired from my job as a scarecrow, this would not have been a problem if had kept my big mouth closed. |
